The Ocean Wall is an interactive aquarium simulation that consists of a 140” diagonal size video wall, installed at the food court, the video wall has different content, all related to the ocean, with content provided by BC Hydro, Parks Canada and other private contributors, all content is high quality video. The content is controlled by a pair of user accessible interactive digital boards. From there, the users can select the type of video they want to play next. Future iteration of the system includes the control from smartphones,, where a user can read a QR code displayed on the Video Wall or printed at the food court tables.
This installation includes technology artifacts conceived or made in Vancouver Island such as weather stations, seaplanes and radio transmitting devices. The transparent showcases draw travelers or people at the arrivals gate as the transparent display is a new eye-catching innovation.
